I’m a Ph.D. student and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow in the field of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. My research is in low-dimensional nonlinear dynamical systems applied to fluid mechanics. Lately, my research has focused on the “hot” field of infinite dimensional dynamical systems.
I grew up in Orange County, California and attended the University of California at Berkeley for my undergraduate education. Beyond living in California and New York, I’ve had the pleasure of traveling a bit for graduate school visits and vacations. While the preponderance of this traveling has been in North America, I’ve also taken a trip to Western Europe and have many great experiences from about two and a half weeks of backpacking through the region.
I’m into outdoors activities like camping, backpacking, and cycling. In the winters, I very much enjoy playing ice hockey even though I’m a California native. I like to photograph friends, places, and urban decay; an album of thousands of pictures of mine are posted online. I’m a morning person and love simple things: mashed potatoes and breakfast, not to put too fine a point on it.
